The International Association for Human Values, a sister organisation of the Art of Living Foundation, has registered on the My Community (My schools/ My villages) support system. As a non- profit organization we are constantly looking for funding for seva projects from YLTP, to Medical clinics, to computer projects, expenditures for BWS, conferences, AIDS events, etc etc. We require funds for our bigger projects like the Rural Development Program in the EC, and the Drug Rehab program in Gauteng. Not everyone can contribute their time or their finances. Often volunteers & teachers tap into their own resources.
My Community together with its partners namely Woolworth's, Engen, etc. has devised a system whereby they contribute to schools, charities, & communities through support cardholders purchases.
How it works?
- By registering IAHV as a beneficiary you receive a My village support card.
- Every time you purchase any of your goods at a participating My school/ My village store you simply swipe you're my village card and a percentage of your purchases at that particular store goes towards IAHV projects.
- The percentage ranges from 1 to 10% depending on that stores contribution.
- By applying for my village support card you are not charged anything and the card is NOT a credit or debit card. You will also not be charged in anyway by contributing to IAHV in terms of additional charges or monthly charges.
- This is a free voluntary based supporter system.
- All you have to do is be mind full to use your card when purchasing at any participating my school/ My village store.
- You will also be able to track your contribution by registering on the website www.myschool.co.za or stipulating at the end of registration form on how you would like to be communicated. Please visit this website so you are working from a clear and informed position.
- Options for registering: This will be done through the AOL / IAHV National office for now. Who will then forward all the application forms to My community head office. Once IAHV is registered on the system your card will be sent to you via post.
This is a growing system that is conscious of social responsibility and welfare. It also incorporates the values of Ubuntu and belongingness. Your participation and contribution is greatly valued in building our projects, and therefore our society
